Comments from the GTA Audiophile Club:

An event like last night was truly a labour of love.

We created a a meal that would be a new culinary discovery for some of you. It was for the love of friendship and the wonderful experiences that we share together as a group. Last but not least, it was for the love of music created by the great musicians from around the world. Befitting the international music theme, we managed to touch every corner of the world.

Africa - Malian albino singer Salif Keita, guitarist/singer Ali Farka Toure and kora player Toumani Diabate

Europe - Polish singer Anna Maria Jopek, Peter Gabriel, Lebanese oud player Abou-Rabih Khalil, French singers Jacque Brel, Serge Gainsbourg, Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti, Norwegian singer Kari Bremnes, Spanish singer Concha Buika (some of us are seeing her at Koerner Hall in 2013), Israel singer Ofra Haza and Portugese fado singer Dulce Pontes

Asia - Indian sitar master Ravi Shankar, Chinese singer Lowell Lo and Vietnamese guitarist Nguyen Le

Americas - Unusual but beautiful pairing of American Blues singer Mighty Sam McCLean with Iranian singer Mahsa Vahdat, father and son Cuban pianists Bebo and Chucho Valdes, Argentine singer Mercedes Sosa paired with French singer Francis Cabrel and Mexican singer Lila Downs

It was an evening of great friends, varied and interesting conversation, fine wine and food and great music. What more can you ask for?
