The Watt Puppy is not known for being a soft, mellow, and reserved speaker.     IMHO, Peter made a bold attempt by placing a Watt Puppy in such a small listening room especially when his listening position is less than 8 feet from the speaker.

For a very long period of time, Peter made many attempts to overcome the daunting task of taming a close range puppy.  The tube traps on the wall speak for themselves.  Needless to say, it didn't work out.

Peter has since replaced the speakers with a pair of Amphion speakers.  To the Magainzes or Watt Puppy retailers, it was a downgrade.  To both Peter and my own ears, it was tremendous upgrade.  His new speakers were MUCH better for his room and the results were to the positive.  Nothing wrong with the Puppies, just a case of proper system matching.
